Bugs and Conflicts
January 28, 2025

Hi all, Casper Gaming now tracks bugs with [CGMZ] plugins and plugin conflicts with [CGMZ] plugins. You can see any known bugs or incompatibilities with [CGMZ] plugins in the plugin's online documentation. The documentation is accessible from any plugin information page in the Links section. Bugs have been transferred from my issue tracker, but I previously did not track plugin conflicts so if you see any please report those to me.

Status Page

Hi all, quick update here to mention Casper Gaming's status page. You can find it at the url: https://caspergaming.statuspage.io/. This page will let you know about any planned maintenances or unplanned incidents that affect access to the Casper Gaming website. If you do not see an incident but cannot access the website, please report it in the Casper Gaming discord so I can investigate the issue.

Reddit & More

Hi all, Casper Gaming now has a subreddit! Click the reddit icon on any page to visit it. Since the last update, the other two resource types have been revealed: audio and art assets. I look forward to bringing more art and audio assets to the RPG Maker community for use in your games. Finally, each of my MZ plugins now have their own documentation page. Currently this is mostly just the help section of the plugin file in website form, but I hope to expand this as time goes on to provide more details about how to use my plugins in an easy to understand format.

Resources Revamp

For a long time now, the resources section of Casper Gaming has been something that needs improvement. That improvement is finally here, with a redesign of the resources section to be far more similar to the plugin section. There are also a few new resource types to go with it. The first being Map Packs, which are packs of premade maps you can use in your game or look at for inspiration, and two more to be revealed at a later date.

Devlogs

Casper Gaming now supports devlogs! In the Version History of each plugin page, you will now see a "Devlog" button next to updates, which you can click to be taken to the devlog for that update. Going forward, I plan to post a devlog for each update no matter how minor the update is. I have also gone through some recent updates and added devlogs for those, but older updates will not have devlogs as the devlogs for those updates have been lost to time. In the future, I may go back and create new devlogs for the really old updates, but it takes time and I am not sure how useful it would be to post a devlog for an update from 3 years ago.

Unofficial MZ Documentation

Hi all, I have seen a common complaint that MZ has poor documentation and it takes a lot of effort to learn the default codebase for writing plugins or making script calls. In an attempt to help make writing JS for MZ more approachable for beginners, I have decided to write documentation for RMMZ base code. Keep in mind that MZ does use other frameworks, mostly PixiJS, which already have their own documentation and is not covered on my website. I have used the PixiJS theme for familiarity, since most people will probably be looking at either MZ or Pixi documentation when writing plugins so it helps if they match in style.

Hi all, I have gotten a few questions about including Casper Gaming as a cameo in your games. In the past, I had not really thought about this too much. Since it came up a few times, I have now made some usage rules for using Casper Gaming logos or adding a Casper Gaming cameo in your games, along with an owl sprite to do so. You can find this at the new Brand page.

Plugin Images

Hi all, with the changes to the website for Alpha/Beta plugins to make the links to access them stand out more, I thought I would stop using the Alpha and Beta plugin images. It started to get a bit overwhelming while scrolling through the plugin list to see so many of the same image, and I think this change will help you find what you are looking for while scrolling through the plugin list.

Legacy Resource Page Removed

Hi all, the old legacy resources page which had all of my MV/Ace/VX/misc resources in one page has now been removed after being deprecated for a long time. These resources are all still accessible on the website, they just have their own sections now instead of using one big page.

Translation Update
August 21, 2022

Casper Gaming now supports translations! Translations are fan-made, please send me a Discord DM if you believe there is an error in a translation or if you would like to translate a plugin into your native language.

This update also introduced the FAQ and Support pages.

Legacy Resource update
November 1, 2021

This update split the legacy resources from 1 large page with everything into separate pages for each maker (as well as one page for the miscellaneous resources). Part of this meant adding dropdown menu ability to the nav bar.
